Mission Statement

The mission of Mental Health and Recovery Counseling Education and Training (MHRCET) is to provide access to quality mental health and recovery services in a comprehensive and culturally respectful manner to individuals and families. MHRCET is dedicated to improving the quality of every individual by focusing on the primary goals and objectives:

  • Improving population health
  • Enhancing mental health awareness
  • Addressing and reducing mental health stigma
  • Improving the patient experience
  • Becoming a leader in the mental health industry

Description

We are currently seeking individuals interested in becoming part of our board to address the growing need of mental health services in and around California. Members work with one or more groups or committees on their own schedule.

If you are mission driven, kind, helpful, compassionate, and genuinely care about the well-being of others we need a person like you to join our team.

Committing to this volunteer position will include the following:

  • Assisting the Executive Committee in carrying out its governance functions
  • Partnering with the President/CEO to help ensure the Board’s directives, policies, and resolutions are carried out
  • Partnering with the President/CEO to lead the development and refinement of impact metrics
  • Serving as an ambassador of the organization and advocating its mission to internal and external stakeholders

Areas of Expertise / Desired Professionals: (includes but not limited to)

  • Wellness/Fitness Instructors
  • School Teachers (all ages)
  • Healthcare Physician, Nurse, or Recovery Counselors
  • Mental Health Professionals
  • State, Government, or County Workers (Behavioral or Mental Health Division, preferred)
  • Law Enforcement/Probation Officers

Responsibilities: (includes but not limited to)

  • Responds to emails in a professional manner
  • Actively participates in monthly meetings
  • Provides knowledgeable input and feedback to assist the organization in making comprehensive decisions

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Organized with time management skills
  • Confident utilizing office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Tech savvy (must be comfortable and familiar with using a computer, laptop, etc.)
  • Relevant skills in exercising initiative, good judgment and sound decision-making
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing

MHRCET strives to deliver services and support necessary to improve the quality of life for children, youth, and adults with mental illness and addictive disorders.

Applicants must have voice and video capabilities in order to conduct and follow-up with interviews.
