Description
We are currently seeking a volunteer Domestic Violence Advocate to provide emotional support to survivors of domestic violence. This position works with a culturally diverse population and in conjunction with the Meeting Facilitator to support program participants to address counseling, educational, and employment related needs. Possible communication with community service providers to secure additional resources.

Experience
- 2+ years experience working with survivors of domestic violence or homeless individuals/families
- Demonstrated experience in the area of domestic violence or trauma
- Knowledgeable in one or more areas of mental health, addiction, domestic violence, and trauma
- Proficient using Microsoft Office and desktop/web applications
Responsibilities: (includes but not limited to)
- Attend individual and group meetings
- Actively participates in weekly team meetings
- Assists with weekly meeting topics (if necessary)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Crisis management
- Communicates effectively both orally and in writing
- Interpersonal skills
MHRCET strives to deliver services and support necessary to improve the quality of life for children, youth, and adults with mental illness and addictive disorders.
Conference calls are necessary when conducting initial and follow-up interviews. Approximate time per interview is one (1) hour.
